A little letter to my unborn son:
Dear Sebastian,
Today your big sister Isabella came with me to see Dr. G for my routine monthly pregnancy check-up. Isabella was kind of shy but she did ask a few questions; she wanted to know why Dr. G measured my belly and also why he put jelly all over my belly right before we listened to your heartbeat.
You have now been growing inside of me for a little over 5 months and, much to my delight, you are thriving. My most recent ultrasound revealed that you are growing normally and we are both right on track for this stage of pregnancy.
Weighing in at less than 1 pound you still have a lot of growing to do before you make your grand entrance into the world. I've gained a total of 12 pounds thus far - not too bad (yet!) - but by the looks of me you would think I gained 25 pounds already!
I can feel you moving within me all the time now. If you've been still for a while all I need to do is lie down and instantly you spring into action! Soon enough Daddy and your siblings will be able to put their hands on my belly and feel your kicks too.
I don't have any major cravings anymore, although I do tend to drink an awful lot of orange juice! My cravings for all things salt-related has subsided, thankfully. Up until a few days ago I hadn't experienced a lick of heartburn but that seems to be old news as now I feel like I have heartburn 24/7. The next time I go to the store I will get the store brand of Zantac to help. Until then I'll continue to eat a whole lot of Tums!
Daddy and Uncle David moved some furniture around so your room is all set up, although it will be a while before it is fully ready for you. It's been over 10 years since Kyle was born so we're in need of quite a bit of clothes for you!! We also need to buy some crib bedding, blankets, bottles, pacifiers and a car seat for you, too. I'm looking forward to going shopping - buying baby things is so much fun!
I hope that you're happy camping out in my belly (for now) - I know I am very happy to have you in there!
Love, Mama
