Waiting on Spring!

Despite the fact that Kyle was not on "school vacation" this week, many of his friends/family were.  We took full advantage of this & had a kid over every day, which proved to be great fun for all involved!
My (almost) 10 year old nephew slept over last night; Lawrence is an awesome kid who reminds me so much of Kyle.  The two boys have always resembled each other & look more like brothers than cousins but even more than that, they have so much in common!  From Lego's to Star Wars, Ninja Turtles to BeyBlades they kept each other well entertained long into the night!
We'll wrap up this fun-filled week for Kyle tomorrow when we meet with a bunch of the Cub Scouts at Lowes to participate in a "build a monster truck" workshop.

In other news, Savannah is sick (again!!) & will be going back to the Pediatricians office at some point today.   She had a horrible, feverish night on Wednesday which repeated itself last night as well.  At this point I'm feeling pretty frustrated with the Pediatrician who has yet to prescribe antibiotics for this poor child who clearly is having major trouble fighting off whatever it is she has.  Last week she had a chest x-ray..because her cough sounds so bad & we were concerned that it had settled into her chest.  Fortunately the x-ray came back clear, but because of that the Pediatrician felt it wasn't necessary to put her on antibiotics, even though she's had this cold/cough for MONTHS.  I am not ashamed to admit my faults & one of them is that I do tend to question doctor's diagnoses (or lack of).  I learned (early on, and the hard way at that!) that everyone - including doctor's - make mistakes & because of that I fully admit that I probably take the kids to the pediatrician's office far too often.  That being said, my trips there are not for nothing.  When you see & hear how horrible your baby looks - with her watery sad eyes, drippy nose, croupy cough & overall feverish look.. combined with the facts that she's not eating or sleeping well & is spending far more time crying than she is smiling - you want nothing more than to give them something to make them feel better.  So, that being said, I'll be calling the doctor's office again this morning to make yet another appointment for my little one.

And in the meantime, we are absolutely - positively - Waiting on Spring!!  It can't come soon enough for me, or for the kids!!
