Kyle has always been an outgoing little boy & enjoys being involved in various activities. I always pay close attention to his activities schedule in an effort to avoid conflicts. It can be really difficult for me to get Kyle to/from things, especially with the girls in tow. I'm very fortunate in that our neighbor Mike tries to make himself available at all times to take Kyle to things whenever I can't. He's a huge help!!
This time of year always proves to be challenging in The Wonderful World Of Activities because Baseball Season is almost upon us & with that comes try-outs, practices & games...all of which take place on random days at random times...making it impossible to avoid conflicts with the other activities Kyle's involved with.
I just found out last night that baseball try-out's are on this Saturday. The person in charge gave us -zero- notice. We don't even have a confirmed time yet & it's already Wednesday! It really wouldn't be a big deal if not for the fact that we have a very big Cub Scouts event happening on Saturday: The Pinewood Derby! Jim is leaving the house shortly after 8:00a to help set up the race track. Then Carole is coming over to watch the girls around 10'ish so that I can get to the event to set up the food & prepare for the car weigh-in's, which happen at 11. Inbetween all of this I have to get out to pick up the pizza's, too. Now rumor has it that baseball try-outs for Kyle's age group will take place from 8-10a. Good lord. This means that I'll have to get him dressed in baseball gear & get him to try-out's first thing in the morning, then rush him home to get him dressed in his Scouts uniform so we can get over to the event. I'm not a fan of rushing around & I'm even less of a fan when it comes to rushing around with all of the kids!
In addition to Cub Scouts & Baseball, Kyle is still very much involved with Karate. On March 9th he will test for his 2nd Brown Belt Stripe. If he advances, he will be just 1 stripe away from testing for his Black Belt!! I'm really glad that he enjoys Karate as much as he does. Not only is it an excellent form of discipline but it's also great exercise for him, too! Over the past few years he has learned self control, balance & focus.
In other news, Savannah is feeling much better these days. She started antibiotics last Friday, which have made a huge difference! With the exception of an on/off runny nose & a slight cough from time to time she's definitely feeling a lot better, which is good news for ALL of us!
