( I apologize for the poor quality video..unfortunately my beloved digital camera is on its way out..!)
Kyle & Jim spent some time figuring out how to get (and keep) the helicopter up in the air. I really love these pictures because as you are SURE to notice, both father & son share almost identical expressions in many of the photo's.

I'm still not sure which "child" had the bigger smile...lets just say they BOTH enjoyed this "toy" tremendously!!

Sampson's eyes got a little freaky as the helicopter made its way past him...

Here's one of those "identical expressions" I was talking about..

Kyle & I also picked up breakfast for Jim (and us) - Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee & a Dozen Donuts. Can't go wrong there :) I'd love to blame my unwillingness to cook on being pregnant but such is not the case. The kitchen is my enemy.
After the batteries in the helicopter died out (they only last for 15 minutes before needing to be charged for 30 minutes) Jim headed upstairs to begin building a wall. He worked for a couple of hours & then we headed out to visit with Jim's parents. We presented Papa Joe with a seemingly comfortable Hammock & one of those new OFF battery operated thingies that attaches to your clothes. We figured he could use both while relaxing in Maine which is something he desperately needs to do after working so hard on our house!!! We headed to Grampy's mid-afternoon to enjoy a delicious lunch of meatloaf, potatoes & homemade bread. My sisters Carole & Leslee, along with Leslee's family, were there too which was great. Kyle loved playing with cousins Brandon & Sarah. Kyle was in one of his crazy hyper moods but he had a lot of fun running laps outside. Afterwards we headed BACK to Jim's parents for dessert. Much to MY (nevermind the kids!!) extreme delight Nana announced that we'd be making our own sundae's! She set out all of the makings for the "perfect" ice cream sundae...a huge tub of strawberry/vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, sprinkles, m&m's, peanut butter chips, whipped creme & cherries!!! Talk about HEAVEN! Of course the children - Kyle, Lawrence & Michelle were THRILLED to make their own delicious dessert! Kyle surprised us all by eating his entire bowl!! Unheard of! And I must tell you, when I first laid eyes on the "tub" of ice cream my thoughts were "wow, that's a lot of ice cream". Well...by the time the kids AND adults had finished making their sundae's there was only a small amount of ice cream left!! In any event, it was SO good. I think we should make it a "Sunday" tradition. "Make your own sundae on Sunday (every sunday?!) at Nana's". Sounds good to me?? :)
Needless to say, I think all the fathers enjoyed their special day surrounded by family!!
It was especially heartwarming to see my own father in such good spirits, after all he's been through over the past year. All too often each breath we take & each day we're given is taken for granted. I was really reminded yesterday of just how lucky I am to be part of the Borrelli-Vargas and "technically" Whitman family.

It looked like Jimmy and Kyle had a great time with the helicopter!! And when you were here, with Papa Joes helicopter and Jimmys going full speed, it was quite the sight!! Lots of noise!! Im glad the sundaes were a hit with you. We will definetly have to do it again. This time everyone bring their special topping. Should be quite interesting
I absolutely LOVE that video. Kyle is so proud of his Fathers' Day present :-)
Sounds like you had a great day, and it was so nice of you to find the time to see all the dads!
Oh by the way Paula, this is Jimmys 6th Fathers day!!!
