Enjoying The Warmer Weather!

Last weekend I finally convinced Jim to let me invest in an "Easy Set" pool. Prior to this pool we had what is called a "Family Swim Center" pool which was a rather large, inflatable pool. It was nice but it had to be filled & drained on a daily basis, which was not very conservative water-wise, or convienant time-wise. So I got it into my head that an Easy Set pool would be the way to go because it has a pump & filter. I also like the fact that it does not stay up all year round - it gets taken down at the end of the summer which is ideal for us. Kyle enjoys playing in our yard all year round & the pool takes up a lot of room. It's 16x42 - so a fairly good size! And I think (hope) that it will help Kyle to overcome his fear of "big pools" in general. (If his feet can't touch the ground he considers the pool to be a "big pool") He loves lakes & oceans & smaller kiddie pools but that's where he draws the line. He tells me he is afraid he will sink to the bottom..so I bought him some fun floats & tubes & a life jacket to help ease his fears. Mind you, the pool is NOT that deep & infact, it's debatable as to whether or not he might even be able to stand up in it. Jim wanted me to do the ole "toss him in & swim away" trick but I refused. Kyle is not exactly a trusting child to begin with...!

Below: It took me a while, but finally I convinced Kyle to float around in this tube. He was stiff as a board & not at all relaxed..but eventually he became more comfortable & even wanted me to spin him around in the tube.

Below: Jim observed us in the pool, but wouldn't come in himself. He said he has to be very hot before he'll go swimming.

Below: Kyle trying to relax in the tube

Below: At 16x42 it really is a perfect size

Below: All of the windows are now installed, and the addition is wrapped in Tyvek...ready for the final inspection!

I apologize for not taking many pictures of the inside yet. There's really nothing TO take pictures of ..there's a whole lot of wood supports but the actual walls/doors/floors/ceilings have yet to be created. All in due time my friends & family!
And speaking of "due time" - I had my weekly check-up at the Dr's today. My blood pressure & sugar levels are back to normal, thankfully. The baby is doing very well (heartbeat is 143) & is getting bigger by the minute. I'm measuring 2 weeks early, but that could change. If I'm still measuring bigger the next time I go in then we can assume Isabella will be arriving earlier than her expected due date. No surprise there. Kyle himself was 1 week early. The Dr doesn't seem concerned about it. What he does seem concerned about is my lack of weight gain, although I really don't understand the rhyme & reason behind it all. My stomach is HUGE, to me at least! But for whatever reason the scale tells a different story. To date I've gained a total of 7 lbs. That's it!! The Dr would like me to gain a minimum of 15 lbs, maximum of 20 lbs. I don't know why I'm not gaining the weight - as I eat all the time & lord know's I'm not exactly watching what I eat! But, that being said, I also tend to get sick on an irregular basis. As you all know, I was very sick for the first 3 1/2 months. Then I went through a few months where I would get car sick a lot. Now I tend to get sick as a result of the godforsaken awful heartburn I experience 24/7. Sometimes it's so bad it just makes everything come up. So I suppose that's why I'm not gaining weight. As long as the baby is growing & thriving then that's all that matters to me. Seeing as how I went into this pregnancy being overweight I have no problem staying underweight through out the pregnancy itself! And again, Isabella is doing just fine. She moves around constantly...at any given time you can actually SEE my stomach twisting & turning. While the Dr was checking her heartbeat today she decided to put on a little show for him. He was delighted, to say the least. Often I think of her as being an alien (terrible I know)..but the way she slowly stretches out a leg, arm or god knows what to make my stomach bulge is freaky!

That's a pretty nice looking pool, just the perfect size. And how nice that it has a filter, so you don't have to keep emptying/cleaning it!
You must be feeling pretty ready to have this baby by now. I was just watching a show on Disc. Health about women who had twins but didn't know they were carrying two babies. Haha, maybe that's you! Just kidding, of course!
See you on Saturday!
