Today marks the first day of Isabella's 6th year here on Planet Earth and the last day of the month of July! Tomorrow we are having a big party for both Isabella and Savannah - as Savannah's birthday is next week - but I plan on making today special for Bella since it's her actual birthday. I'm going to bake cupcakes and decorate them with purple frosting (her favorite color!). We'll let her pick out a movie of her choice from the RedBox to watch tonight while dining on one of her favorite foods; BBQ Chicken Pizza! And of course what's a birthday without presents?! We've got plenty of those coming her way, too!
The forecast for tomorrow is supposed to be super hot and sunny; perfect weather for a pool party! Unfortunately - as usual! - I've waited until the last minute to get things ready. In between bringing lots of smiles to Bella's face today I'll have to go out to buy all of the food for tomorrow and I'll also have to bake two cakes for Jim to decorate. The yard needs to be cleaned up; toys put away neatly, grass cut and weed wacked. The tents, chairs and tables need to be set up. The list is a little overwhelming but it'll all get done before the party starts!
Sebastian is feeling much better these days but he is still having trouble sleeping through the night. In an effort to make absolutely sure that he's not waking up due to being hungry I gave him a bowl of cereal and a bottle before bed. He went right to sleep at 8P but then he woke up at 9P, 11p, 12:30A, 3:30A and for the day at 5:30A! I gave him a bottle at 12:30A in hopes that it would eliminate him from waking up anymore but clearly that didn't work. Although he will drink a bottle at any time during the night I know for a fact that he's not hungry. So....with him feeling better and tomorrow being the first day of a brand new month we're going to start from scratch (again) and activate the "Tough Love" Button. It is my least favorite method to use but it's the only one that will give long-term results if done properly. He has no problem napping during the day and he doesn't need any help falling asleep. I have no idea what's waking him up during the night or even what he wants but I do know that he's old enough and big enough to be getting himself back to sleep without needing any help. But I'll worry about tonight when it arrives...for right now it's time to concentrate on Miss Isabella's 6th Birthday!!
