Sebastian's Baptism

Dressed in the adorable all-white outfit that his Daddy wore on his special day - back in 1976 - Sebastian James was baptized by Fr. Codega at St. Brendan's Church in Riverside, RI on Sunday, November 30, 2014.

I waited until the last minute to have Sebastian try on Jim's baptism outfit because, as you well know, little babies tend to grow on a seemingly hourly basis.  When I first saw the outfit I thought "Oh no, I think this is going to be too small.."  But I was very, very wrong..  The outfit was huge on Sebastian!!  Even still, I was able to make it fit simply by putting layers of white clothing on him underneath the outfit:
While it may look like he's wearing white pants he's actually wearing thick cotton white tights.  I bought the smallest size I could find and yet they were still way too big, haha!  But they got the job done and I'm sure you'll agree that our little guy looked quite handsome :

The days leading up to the baptism were quite busy for Jim and I, as we had agreed that it would be in our best interest (financially) to cater the party ourselves.  We spent an entire day in the kitchen but our efforts were well worth it!  Everyone seemed to enjoy the wide variety of foods we made and I'm pretty sure no one left the party feeling hungry!  :-)

Both the baptism and the party went off without a hitch!  The kids were very well behaved for the baptism and had fun playing with all of their cousins at the party.  It was really nice being able to utilize the incredibly spacious cafeteria at St. Brendan's because everyone had plenty of room to move around, including the bazillion kids in attendance!  The noise level was high, but no one seemed to mind - not even Sebastian!   He was passed around from person to person and, with the exception of a messy diaper malfunction, his day was just as perfect as ours!

We chose Brad & Gina Hines to be Sebastian's Godparents - and had this beautiful picture taken of all of us.  I am going to make a copy of this photo and hang it in Sebastian's room:
