Whenever someone asks me "What did you do today?" I almost always chuckle to myself. I could literally type up a minimum of 200 things that I did today.
What DIDN'T I do today?
I didn't take a shower today, although all 3 kids were bathed...
I didn't finish reading 'Dead Reckoning' (part of the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris) even though I'm dying to find out what happens!! Instead I read Poohs Grand Adventures, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Llama Llama Misses Mama & Elmo Count With Me. I also read all about the Pilgrims & the importance of Earthworms...
I didn't enjoy a single cup of hot coffee, even though I poured at least 3 cups..
I didn't sit down for one meal, despite having made apple pancakes for breakfast, pizza for lunch & hamburger/potato casserole for dinner.
I didn't style my hair or put on make-up, but my 2 yr old is looking pretty beautiful with her hair in cute braids & a smidgen of blush on her cheeks (per her request).
But most important of all, I didn't take one moment for granted today.
Being a good mother means being selfless. I give my all to my children because I want to. Because they deserve it. Because I asked for them & was blessed with 3 of them.
Maybe tomorrow I'll have time to shave my legs. But probably not. And that's okay. It's one more thing I'll be able to add to my "What Didn't I Do Today?" list..
