A Few Photo's

Our kids are growing up so darn fast! It's hard to believe that Kyle is 6 1/2 yrs old now & Bella is 17 months old!! They're both at such great, fun ages. Believe it or not, they actually play together now. Sometimes Kyle will build a train track & Bella will sit with him for a while, watching the trains go round & round. Other times she will "chase" him around the house - running from room to room. Kyle has turned into quite the reader & will sit on the floor & read short stories to his sister. They both LOVE books!

With Martin Luther King, JR day fast approaching I've been spending some time teaching Kyle about who he is & what MLK, JR day is all about. I've read him two short stories that tell about this life of this amazing man & I also read him MLK, JR's exact "I Have A Dream" speech. The speech was definitely over Kyle's head, but I think he understand the general concept of it.
Last night we worked on a project - I traced Kyle's handprints & then he cut them out & glued them onto the posterboard. He really put some thought into this project & I was more than pleased with the end result! Everything he wrote is in his own words. I did not help him. Here is what he said: "It Does Not Matter What Color Skin God Gave To You..We Are All The Same".."I HAVE A DREAM..That the Earth will never break. I HAVE A DREAM..That no one will ever get sick in the world. I HAVE A DREAM..That white people will always be friends with black people!"

Meanwhile, Jim thought he would enjoy his breakfast of a green & pepper & cheese omelete + a bagel with cream cheese while sitting in the living room. Like starving little puppies the kids attacked his breakfast. Kyle even got his own fork, hahaha!
And finally...the business cards I created online have arrived! I felt it was only appropriate to call them "Vargas & Son" seeing as how wherever Jim goes, Kyle is sure to follow!!!
