The Month Of June!

Dear Kyle,
Your mohawk only lasted for about 1 week before I decided to shave it off. I had no idea how difficult it would be to maintain - LOTS of hair gel & way too much time spent trying to get each strand of hair to stick up perfectly straight in a row! Also, I thought the mohawk made you look like a punk, instead of the sweet little boy that you are -- so I convinced you that shaving it off would be a good idea. I told you that seeing as how you were planning on swimming a lot in the pool it would be pointless to have a mohawk since it would get messed up. You agreed & so I shaved it off:

Dear Bella,
At 10 1/2 months old you decided that it was time to pull yourself up into a standing position. You seem so young to be doing this:

We had to pack away your infant seat & buy you a new, bigger car seat. You fit much more comfortably in this seat:

Saturday found us all in great spirits! The sky was blue, the sun was shining & the air was warm. At 7:30a I took Bella with me grocery shopping. She enjoyed sitting in the shopping cart "people watching". I moved at a rapid pace through the store because I know how quickly moods can change when you're a baby. You smiled right up until we got into the check-out line. Then you decided you'd had enough & you started to scream. Not cry. Scream. So I had to put you on my hip & unload the cart one-handed. Not fun! I brought you home to Daddy, unloaded the groceries & then Kyle & I headed out to Walmart to buy Daddy his Fathers Day gift - a Blu Ray DVD player. We returned home around 10a & spent the rest of the morning/afternoon outside..from 10a-4p!! We grilled swordfish steaks (SO good) & both kids had a blast playing in the water:

Bella loves both the baby pool & the big pool!

Both me & Daddy went swimming, too -- it was kind of cold, but felt good!

The batteries in the camera died, so I didn't get any pictures of Kyle swimming but he's turned into quite a fish this year! Now that his feet can touch the ground he feels more comfortable in the pool. I suspect he'll be spending a lot of time in it this summer!
Half-way through the day exhaustion hit Bella & she ended up taking a 3 hr nap. Not surprisingly she still went to bed at 7p & was fast asleep within minutes. Fresh air makes everyone good & tired!! Kyle also fell asleep early & both kids woke up later than usual the next morning!
So, Saturday turned out to be a perfect family day for us!
