Big House Project '09 Part 6

I'm happy to report that one of the most major rooms in the 3 room addition is almost complete..Kyle's bedroom!! Infact, with a little luck & a lot of hard work (as always!) we think we might be able to move him up there this weekend! It won't be 100% completed for a few more weeks but the things that will need to be done, such as molding, baseboards, window sills etc, are all things that Jim can do after Kyle is already up there. This comes as great news to me, seeing as how our baby will be coming very soon & we've yet to start on the nursery! Fortunately the nursery itself needs very little work. Just some paint! Whew!
So here's the most recent batch of pictures showing progress upstairs:
Dry Wall & Putty = Completed!

Here's Jim applying primer to the ceiling:

And of course Papa Joe helping out as always:

Father & Son:
Painting the walls = Completed!

Sub Flooring = Completed!

Helper Kyle enters the picture:

Note: Kyle is wearing safety glasses & Jim has his hand over the nail gun, allowing Kyle only to pull the trigger. Jim has complete control over the nail gun & Kyle never goes unsupervised around any of these power tools. Consider this my personal Disclaimer, hahaha! In all seriousness though - our children learn from us, regardless of what their age is. There is no doubt in my mind that Kyle will follow in Jim's footsteps, just as Jim has followed in his Dad's footsteps, when it comes to being able to do anything he sets his mind to!

And here come the hardwood floors..not completed just yet, but probably will be by tomorrow!

On a side note: We can not thank Papa Joe enough for all of his help through-out this entire project. He has faithfully shown up at our house almost every single morning..eager, ready & willing to help Jim with whatever it is he is trying to accomplish that day. I'm sure he will tell you that working with Jim on a daily basis can be a challenge sometimes. Jim has proven to be quite the perfectionist, which is not a bad thing, however it can be exhausting when you're working on tedious projects for hours on end. That being said, the two Vargas' work very well together & really compliment each others personalities. Mr. Sometimes Stubborn vs. The Perfectionist! I know Jim truly appreciates all of his fathers help. Just as Kyle enjoys working by Jim's side, Jim enjoys working by his fathers side. Lots of memories have been created over the past few months & it's really nice to watch them together. Lately I find myself just sitting up there watching them "in action" - there's lots of laughter, to say the least! Jim never would've been able to do this without his father's guidance, help & support. Thank You Papa Joe!!
And now here are some random pictures of Kyle:

And here's "Super Delila" - A few weeks ago she was hit by a car & thrown across the street, only to stand up & quite literally walk away from the entire ordeal without so much as a bump on her!! It was one of the most scariest moments of our lives. At age 11, Delila is certainly far from being a young pup! She is one of the best dogs we've ever known. She's loving, faithful, loyal & protective. I always say she is our live-in alarm system! When we are outside in the backyard she will lay by the front of the gate, as shown in this picture, guarding not our yard, but our son. She will only take her eyes off of him to look at the road to see if anyone is approaching. People pay a lot of money to train their dogs to be like this. For Delila it came natural. She's a pound puppy - half greyhound, half shepard & again, one of the best dogs we've ever known :)
