Holy Batman!

With Kyle's big birthday party fast approaching I've been spending some time trying to come up with games to keep the kids entertained. Afterall, this will be our first time hosting an actual "kid" party!! Normally we just have our very large family over to celebrate but this year Kyle asked if he could invite his preschool class ( 9 kids in total), in addition to inviting his cousins (lost count ages ago) & family members (way too many to count!). Jim & I decided that the best place to have this party would be at the local park, weather permitting. And you all know what our track record looks like when it comes to planning outdoor events!! But we've set a raindate & should it be a total wash out then we'll just have immediate family over to celebrate..no big deal. Anyways, Kyle has his heart set on having a "batman" themed party so I've been wracking my brain trying to come up with neat ideas. This morning I decided that it'd be cool to have a "bat toss" - a bat shaped symbol cut out of wood with holes in it to toss bean bags thru. Within an hour my idea became a reality, thanks to Jim's creative side! He cut the symbol out of wood, pulled out some paint & low & behold - we now have a "bat toss" ready to go! It's sure to be a big hit at the party! Here are a few pics..

I've also come up with "Bat, Bat, Joker" - played like "Duck, Duck, Goose" & maybe a ring toss? If anyone has any ideas toss them my way!! We really want to make this birthday party extra special for Kyle, seeing as how soon he will lose the "only child" status he has now!
