While I'm VERY excited about the new addition I must admit that I'm sad to see our playroom get destroyed. I spent many, many hours decorating the room "just so" - trying to get into the mindset of a child's vivid imagination. We used several different colors on the walls & borders. Clifford, Curious George, 101 Dalmatians & different types of vehicle wall stickers really helped to make the room come to life! And of course, hundreds of toys helped to complete the playroom. Kyle, along with numerous family members & friends, have gotten tons of use out of the room. To have such a large, warm, inviting, playful, kid-friendly space in the house was a luxury that I never once took for granted. Especially now that all of those toys are elsewhere in the house..!! And while Jim has plans to build another (smaller, but that's okay) playroom I'll always have fond memories of our old one!
We paid $1000 to get special "extra thick" carpeting so Jim laid plastic down to try to salvage some of it...

As usual, Kyle helped too!!

Goodbye "Clifford" wall...

Kyle was absolutely THRILLED to not only be given a "real" hammer, but to be told that he could bang the wall as hard as he wants with it!! Jim was smart & made sure that I was long gone before he allowed Kyle to help with this project!

It didn't take long before Kyle got the hang of it. Soon the wall was being torn into pieces!

Jim has since invested in some special "dust masks"! And from here on out Kyle has to wear a hard hat as well! Soon they will break apart my beloved walk-in closet (which will become a bathroom)
The one good thing here is that all of this is taking place upstairs. So once the door is closed, no one has to see the big mess left behind!!!!
We look forward to sharing more pictures with everyone as the project continues..

oh yes- how sad to see all that hard work get smashed- but sure Jim will make it into something even better- glad that you are taking precautions against the plaster and the hard hat is a good investment- every night you will notice how much work they get done together- and rebuilding everything in the end- good luck Jim and be careful, momsie
