The rainy, humid weather has finally drifted away, leaving me feeling much more comfortable now! Hooray for nicer, cooler weather!
Things went well at my Dr.'s appointment yesterday afternoon. After a thorough check-up Dr. G. announced that I am a little over 3 cm dilated, with "everything" in "ready position" for birth....except for the baby who, much to my surprise, is still kind of high up. For weeks now I've been complaining about how low he feels in my belly, often times joking about how I feel like he's just going to fall right out! In any event, Dr. G thinks that when it comes time for labor and delivery things should progress rapidly for me, since my body is already dilating on it's own without needing any "help". In the meantime there's not much else left to do except wait patiently for the big day..which could be today, tomorrow or even in early November! While my actual due date is October 25th, Dr. G gives what he calls a "4 day grace period" meaning technically he will not term me 40 weeks until October 28th. If the baby hasn't come by the time I'm 40 weeks I will be induced, like I was with Savannah, but induction is planned around the Dr.'s schedule..which is anything but open!
Kyle and Bella have had a pretty good week, especially since Jim has been home during the mornings. Kyle has taken an interest in building his own computer using old (but working) parts from Jim's broken down computers. Knowing Kyle (and Jim) it will be up and running soon!
I ordered a bunch of new learning workbooks for Bella, which arrived yesterday. I intentionally got her a couple of "easy" books (mixed in with some harder ones) so as not to discourage her by making things too challenging.
Savannah is the only one who has had somewhat of an "off" week. She's either super hyper or having a meltdown over something absolutely ridiculous. She's been glued to Bella's side, which is adorable, but then there are times in which Bella wants to be left alone..and it's during those times that Savannah will throw a tantrum over virtually nothing. And I admit that I haven't been very good about redirecting her when she starts to freak out... usually I just ignore her. While some toddlers throw tantrums to get attention I do not believe that's the case with Savannah. Her tantrums primarily circle around the fact that she's either angry over something or being stubborn. She could care less if someone is watching her scream...!
