We were forced to snap out of vacation mode rather quickly as we walked through the door of our home last Friday afternoon and were greeted by 3" of saw dust covering *everything*. We had the main floors refinished while we were away. They came out awesome but I wasn't anticipating having to do a major cleaning - on top of having to re-organize the house - within seconds of returning from vacation! While the task was more than a little overwhelming Jim and I worked together and by dinner-time the living room, hallway, dining room and 2 closets were fully furnished and set-up again.
We spent the majority of the following day (which was our 6th Wedding Anniversary) cleaning, unpacking, doing laundry and running errands. I was a little disappointed that Jim and I weren't able to celebrate our special day. Our nieces 1st birthday party took place at The Riviera that night (at 6p) so going out for dinner wasn't an option. That being said, we had a wonderful time at the party. My brother-in-law and his wife went all out for their little girls 1st birthday - from the decorations to the music, the delicious food to the cake and desserts - everything was perfect! The kids had a blast dancing (errrr....if that's what you want to call it? the little ones pretty much ran in circles the entire time!) on the dance floor and by the end of the evening everyone was fully exhausted (including me!).
We went to church on Sunday morning and spent the last of Jim's vacation time together, puttering around the house and just hanging out.
On Monday morning Jim and the kids dropped me off at Woman & Infants for my Gestational Diabetes test and RhoGam shot. What was supposed to be a 1 hour appointment turned into 2 1/2 hours but at least it's done and over with now. I had my routine check-up appointment today, and I passed the diabetes test, so all is well on that end! Everything looks great with the baby.
