I'm really not a fan of the cold, dreary, gloomy days that make up Winter In New England. We spend so much time outdoors when the weather is nice that it's incredibly hard to avoid feeling 'cabin fever' when we're forced to stay indoors so when I woke up this morning and discovered that we were in for sunny, blue skies & mild temps in the mid 40's I decided we would head over to Sabin Point Park for a couple of hours.
Dressing the kids to go out is no small task: Hats, mittens, scarves, coats, boots..it's a project just to get out the door..but it felt SO GOOD to walk along the side of the beach at Sabin Point Park!!
Bella has been asking if she could start a "seashell collection" so she hit the beach w/ a backpack and filled it to the top with horseshoe crabs and various sizes/colors of shells:
She enjoyed watching the ducks, geese and seagulls in the water:
Kyle was SUPER excited to use his new Metal Detector:
Savannah just wandered around, content to be outside with the sun shining on her face:
Kyle spent a ridiculous amount of time digging a hole to China only to retrieve a beer bottle cap..but to him it was like discovering pure gold:
As we were getting ready to leave I spotted an East Providence Police Officer walking along the beach so I asked him if he would take a photo of us:
It was really nice to spend some quality family time outdoors!
