Jim took the day off from work on Halloween, which was really nice. We ordered pizza for lunch and I made "Halloween" cupcakes.
The kids had a lot of fun on Halloween night! Erin and Andrew arrived around 5:30p and rather than waiting until 6p - as we normally do - we decided to hit the pavement early because the forecast didn't look to be in our favor (all day it looked like it was going to rain). It was drizzling out but it was warm so we grabbed our umbrella's and were off.
We made it to the 4th house when Savannah's shoe slipped off and she stepped in a puddle. I had to run back home to grab her dry socks and sneakers. We made it to the 10th house when Isabella informed me that she needed to use the bathroom so I had to run her back home. Suffice to say, I got in lots of "extra" exercise that night!
This year Isabella was definitely *into* Trick Or Treating. She ran from house to house, screaming "Trick Or Treat!!" long before reaching the doors. Savannah was much more reserved, cautiously walking from house to house while holding onto Jim's hand. She avoided the houses that were lit up/played music/had spooky decorations out front. Kyle and Andrew enjoyed being able to spend time together while filling their candy bags along the way.
The weather ended up holding out - it was warm, breezy and only a little wet. All in all it was another perfect Halloween!
We've had a lot of time consuming Scouting activities lately, with many more to come. I admit that I'm not enjoying having to do stuff on the weekends, but I want Kyle to experience Scouting at it's best and so I'm sucking it up and participating in as many activities as I can with him. We participated in the Scouting For Food event two Saturday's in a row. This coming Saturday we are going to participate in a Lowes Workshop with a few of the other kids from my Den. The Saturday after that there's a Boy Scout Hike happening and then the next day there's a Pinewood Derby Fundraising event going on. In between all of these events are my weekly Den meetings. We just finished up our big popcorn fundraiser and I was pleased to hear that we made well over $1000! I'm looking forward to doing some brainstorming with Sheila and coming up with something fun that we can do with the Pack.
September's Biggest Loser Competition ended last weekend - I came in 3rd place! I lost a total of 10 lbs - not bad considering all that my body went through during the first few weeks of the competition. I already signed up for the next Competition. It starts on Nov 16th. I would like to lose another 10 lbs. I'm feeling fairly energetic and motivated these days. If I can lose 10 lbs I'll have reached my lowest weight since my highschool days!!
