Chores

Now that Bella has turned 4 I've decided that it's time for her to do some simple chores around the house.  Kyle has been doing chores since he was her age and he's actually very helpful!  He makes his bed every day & once a week he strips the sheets off & remakes it himself.  He puts all of the garbage out to the curb & brings the bins in afterwards.  He gives Ruby & Delila fresh water & food every day, sometimes multiple times per day!  He puts away his clean laundry & helps out whenever he's asked.  He's very obedient.  He may grumble, but he always does what he's asked to do.
Bella, as everyone knows, dances to a different tune.  She is pretty much the exact opposite of Kyle.  She's long since mastered the art of manipulation & she's constantly turning a deaf ear towards me.  She's defiant & stubborn & honestly doesn't care whether or not she pleases others.  She'll do what she's told but only after I've given her the 1,2,3 count. Usually she pretends like she doesn't know her name.  Even still, I'm determined to teach her the importance of helping out around the house.  I want her to understand that it's part of being in a family.  We all work together to get things done.
I know that giving her some chores will likely create twice the amount of work for me but that's okay.  I know that it will be worth my extra efforts because she'll grow up being helpful & appreciative, just like her big brother!
So now I'm faced with the task of figuring out exactly what chores to give to her.  Here's a list of things I've come up with so far:
*Making her bed every morning
*Cleaning the glass tables w/ Windex every other day
*Washing the kitchen table after meals
*Helping to clean the bathroom once a week
And I think I may give Kyle a new chore - putting away the clean dishes - and give Bella his current chore of putting out the recycling.
