Vermont: January '13

We arrived in Vermont around 9:00p on Friday night.  Our ride was fairly quiet & uneventful, as Savannah slept for the last two hours of the trip while Kyle read books to Bella.
It didn't take Jim long at all to get the wood stove fired up & within minutes the house was toasty warm!  We kept the stove burning all weekend long...which lead to a very cozy type of environment!  We put a gate up around the wood stove, so that we wouldn't have to worry about Savannah getting too close to it, but even still we never left her in the living room without an adult there to keep an eye on her.

Jim got in a little R & R, but not as much as I would've liked him to.  He really doesn't seem to enjoy sitting still for very long!   He spent an afternoon teaching Kyle how to ski, and then an afternoon chopping wood for the fireplace..

Savannah was a very good baby.  She mostly wandered around the house, exploring the rooms & playing with toys.  She slept great..at nap times & again in the evenings.

Bella had a fun time playing out in the snow.  She built two snowmen...

And she had fun climbing up big mountains of snow, too!
 Queen of the Mountain!

The kids were very excited when Grampy finally arrived at the house on Sunday morning..

Savannah discovered Oreo's & Milk...her new favorite snack!

Kyle had a BLAST learning how to ski!  Jim said he did pretty good, for his first time out on the slopes!  He took a few falls, but nothing serious (thankfully), and he can't wait to go back & try again!

After having spent a day out on the slopes, Jim took Kyle to a local diner for a late lunch.  Kyle had worked up quite a big appetite & ordered this footlong hotdog -- which he polished off in record time!

Kyle enjoyed a little down time & did some reading..

He also had fun playing with Potato Heads..

3 happy kids..can't ask for much more than that!
I took the dog for a couple of walks around the area; we walked slowly, so as not to put too much pressure on her legs.  Despite the fact that it was bone chiling cold, it was so nice to see the beautiful scenery.  I had fun checking out all of the different animal tracks in the fresh snow through out the woods..I think I saw raccoon tracks, fox tracks & maybe moose tracks too..although the jury is still out on that one...
