September!

Dear Kyle & Isabella,

It's hard to believe that the month of September is almost over! The days go by so quickly!!

We're still adjusting to not being able to spend a ton of time outside, although lately the weather has been gorgeous so I've been trying to get you both outdoors as much as possible. We took down the pool & put away *most* of the summer toys. Bella enjoys spending time in the sandbox & crawling around the yard, exploring. Lately Kyle has been lost in "imaginary world" & likes to pretend that he's racing through the desert. He sits on Daddy's ATV & the PowerWheels vehicles & makes pretend that he's driving. He found all of Daddy's old license plates & has fun propping them up on the many vehicles in the yard.

When we're stuck inside you both love playing upstairs in the playroom. Bella has learned how to climb up on the couch. She likes to roll off of it. Fortunately,it's low to the ground & the carpeting in that room is very, very thick. Perfect for a playroom!

Kyle keeps busy with his school work. Homeschooling is going very well, so far! He's still a whiz at math & really doesn't seem to struggle with any of his subjects. He's great at spelling & is making big progress with his reading skills, too.
On Mondays & Saturdays he goes to karate class, which he seems to really like! He should be getting tested for his next belt soon. On Wednesdays he goes to TeamWorks - an indoor sports complex - where he's involved in an hour long gym class with other homeschooled children. He LOVES going to this class! Last week he played dodge ball & soccer while this week he played t/v tag & field hockey. In a couple of weeks, on Thursdays, he will attend an arts & crafts class. This is a free class made available through the East Providence Rec. I'm sure he'll love this class, as he's always enjoyed doing arts & crafts projects!

At almost 14 months old Bella is growing up quickly. She can take 2-3 steps on her own, but is not walking unassisted yet. She loves to hold your hand & go for walks around the yard & house though! She seems to have inherited my personality - she's demanding & wants things done a certain way - HER way! She's very, very, very loud. Infact, I don't think she could get any louder!! She screams, screams, SCREAMS all the time - it doesn't matter if she's happy or sad - it's the same high pitched girlie girl scream. It's absolutely exhausting trying to keep her quiet! I'm sure our neighbors (on both sides!) are pulling their hair out by now but really, there's not much we can do except pray that once she starts talking she won't feel the need to yell anymore! She can say a few words already, so I think there's hope that this screaming phase won't last forever! It's a good thing for her that she's cute!!

Oh, she's cute alright! Great job with the homeschooling, it does sound like it's going well.
