More Milestones!

Dear Kyle & Isabella,
The past couple of weeks have brought many changes - starting with daylight savings time. We had to move the clocks one hour forward. No big deal, right? Afterall, it's only one teenie tiny hour we're talking about. 60 forgotten minutes. Right? HAH! We have now learned that Isabella does NOT do well with ANY type of a change to her schedule. The time change really messed you up, little girl. On Sunday I swear I could hear you saying "How DARE you try to change my schedule?!" Your entire sleeping pattern was thrown off. Honestly, I couldn't figure out what the heck you wanted! You spent most of Monday in tears, probably frustrated that I was not understanding what you were asking for. Normally when it comes to naps & bedtime you are an angel -- asleep within minutes. But on Sunday night & Monday night you weren't having it. You cried & cried. Thankfully the windows are still shut so our neighbors don't think I'm harming you! Sometimes I just have to let you cry it out. By Tuesday you were getting the hang of things & starting to turn the corner. You napped better & went to bed on time. And then yesterday you had your new routine down pat. YaY!
Moving along.. Daddy & I have made numerous attempts to get a family picture but we've come to the conclusion that it's a lost cause. Eventually we plan on having our family picture taken professionally but first I'd like to lose some weight. Below is the millionth attempt to get everyone looking at the camera. As usual, my little girl wouldn't cooperate!

Here's a picture of 3 of my most favorite people on Earth..

In other news: Kyle, you have been learning new things left & right lately. You've taken a big interest in Space & want to know all about the Sun, Earth, Stars, Moon, Comets, Planets, Astroids etc! Earlier this week you completely amazed me when you presented me with a picture of the 8 planets! You can name 6 out of the 8 of them now..good job! Your math skills also continue to amaze me. Now you can add 3 numbers at a time..such as 2+4+7=!! You still love to do workbooks, although you have no idea that you're actually "working" -- it's just something fun for you to do!
On a random note: The other night you said "Mama, do you think Nana Jennie is still playing Scrabble up in heaven?" Funny..you haven't mentioned her in quite a while. I told you that I'm SURE she is still playing Scrabble up in heaven.. Then you said "Maybe she could've lived to be 200 if she had done some sit-ups & jogging. Exercise helps us to live longer you know!" Leave it to Kyle to always know how to bring laughter into just about any situation! Seeing as how Nana Jennie lived into her 90's I'm thinking she was doing something right..! I'm so glad that you remember her & enjoy talking about her. With Spring in the air she is certainly in our thoughts. She was always so content to sit in the window & watch the birds & squirrels. The simple things delighted her the most. We all thought the world of her & continue to miss her terribly but we're happy that she's at peace now & we know she's watching over us each & every day.
Here's a photo of Kyle's "Cheesy Grin"..

And lastly: Isabella, you're learning how to sit up all by yourself! You're finding this to be quite challenging, but you're determined! Every day you're able to sit for longer & longer. Right now you can sit for about 2-3 minutes before toppling over. Mr. Mike & Joan have NO IDEA just how much use we're getting out of these pillows they gave to you kids for Christmas..!

And on one last note: I've been exercising every day for 20 minutes (sometimes longer!) since last Tuesday. I exercise on the Elliptical Machine.. which I refer to as the "Death Machine".. every morning. I'm also eating less snacks & more fruits/yogurts/veggies. I weighed myself last Sunday & I'm hoping to see the numbers on the scale gradually decrease as I keep working hard to get my body into shape. And it IS hard work! But already I'm feeling more energetic & less sluggish. Already I'm feeling better about myself.
P.S. Next week I am taking you two munchkins to Sears to have your pictures taken. I hope you both smile nicely for the camera...! I plan on getting you dressed up in your Easter Outfits, which are simply adorable...
