Pretty much as soon as the doctor said "it's a girl" I couldn't WAIT to go shopping. Immediately following our doctor's appointment I wanted to hit the stores...despite the fact that I'm fighting a TERRIBLE cold and feel horrible! After some serious begging and pleading Jim finally agreed to let me buy ONE outfit for Isabella. The excitement I felt upon entering the "baby girls" section of the department store was completely overwhelming! As mostly everyone know's, I'm anything BUT a girlie girl. I've never enjoyed wearing dresses or skirts and to this day I rarely wear make-up. The only real feminine trait I can take credit for is that at one time I had a massive shoe collection. It took Jim MANY years to break me of that obsession... That being said, apparently knowing that we're having a girl has ignited some hidden feminine quality within me because all of a sudden I'm looking at everything pink. Ruffles, bows, lacey sandals - you name it! From clothes to room decor, strollers to toys there is an UNBELIEVABLE wide variety of things out there specifically made for girls. And of course, I want it all!! I find myself daydreaming about how I want to decorate the nursery, with cute little lady bugs and pink curtains :) During a weak moment I confessed these thoughts to Jim. Being the great husband that he is, he listened to me go on and on, and never once did he shake his head "no" at me. However, I bet if I were to go look in my wallet right now I'd find my bank card MISSING. In any event, after browsing through many clothes, I bought Isabella her very first "girlie girl" outfit:
The dress looks SO big, but the size reads "newborn"! I did refrain from buying her tights, seeing as how she will be arriving in some major summer heat! But I will not lie..I was TEMPTED to buy the tights :)
And you know, it's funny - while I was out browsing at all of the little girl clothes and accessories I totally forgot about how terrible I feel with this nasty cold! I forgot about the constant heartburn I have and how I get nauseous almost every time I get into a car now!! If only I could convince Jim that I should go shopping more often..:)

Have fun shopping! The "little princess" in you will come out in no time and before you know it, you will see everything in
Pepto-pink! And don't worry.. Isabella will have plenty of hand me downs from her pretty in pink cousin Sarah!
make sure that you leave some stuff for her NANA to buy-
